Joey is the founder and owner of The Brow Bar. Growing up, Joey was a keen student of science who was also intrigued with the makeup and beauty industry. While working at Vancouver General Hospital, Joey found herself daydreaming about what her true passions were in life. This inspired her to take a leap of faith to leave the laboratory behind to pursue a field that combines both science and beauty – Semipermanent Makeup. Ever since then, Joey has never looked back and finally found her true calling. Every day is a rewarding experience when working with amazing clients while enhancing their beauty and confidence.

 

Joey is highly qualified with seven certifications in the field. She has also graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of British Columbia in 2015. With her comprehensive background in human physiology and anatomy, Joey has a deep understanding of the biology of the skin and how it relates to semipermanent makeup. Her experience in meticulous laboratory work has also taught her valuable aseptic techniques, which she applies in her work to ensure that all equipment used is sterile and disinfected. Joey believes that maintaining a clean and safe environment is essential for client care and trust, and she takes every measure to prevent infection. I only book one new client per day, as providing excellent service is my priority. Each appointment is personalized to your preferences and adjusted to best suit your face shape, skin type, skin tone, and lifestyle. I do not start or finish the procedure until you are 100% happy with the colour, shape, and fullness of your new brows. My priority is to understand your objectives and create a customized brow set that achieves your desired results.

Welcome to The Brow Bar – formerly known as Vancouver Brow Bar – where I specialize in providing my clients with natural, balanced, and flawless eyebrows. I use semi-permanent makeup techniques such as Microblading, Ombre Powder, Nano Machine Hairstrokes, and combination, to create fuller-looking eyebrows that suit your unique features.

These innovative techniques allow me to create natural-looking brows, regardless of the amount of hair present. I only use sterile, premium colour pigments that are carefully formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, and blend perfectly with any remaining eyebrow hairs.

My services are suitable for anyone with thin, sparse, or uneven eyebrows, as well as those who are tired of filling in their brows every day. My methods are long-lasting, typically lasting between 1-3 years, and are suitable for all skin tones.

I take great pride and passion in my work.  I encourage individuals who have experienced Bell's Palsy, alopecia, cancer, trauma, over-tweezing, or have existing asymmetrical facial features to consider my treatments, as they can help to restore confidence and enhance natural beauty.

Outside of work, I cherish spending quality time with my husband, family, and friends. I have a deep love for exploring new foods and traveling. I'm passionate about self-growth, health, and wellness, which includes running, lifting weights, and enjoying nature. Recently, I've been learning to play pickleball, discussing novels at a monthly women's book club, and running with my 4-month-old puppy.

My goal is to continue growing as an artist and a person, and to use my skills to make a positive impact on the lives of my clients.
