What is Microblading?Manual method by using a handheld sterile microblade tool to create hair-like strokes. This method is ideal for clients with existing brow hair who would like to fill in sparse areas. The results are fuller brows filled with natural looking hair-like strokes. The colour pigments used have been formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, and if eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results last up to 1-2 years ideally for clients with dry to normal skin type. Microblading only Combination Brow - Microblading and Manual Microshading Manual Microshading uses a handheld tool to place tiny dots of pigment into the top layer of skin. This technique gives more depth by filling in the small gaps in between the hairstrokes.

What is the Ombre Powder Brows technique?Ombre Powder Brows technique is done by a handheld machine with sterile needle to place tiny dots of pigment into the top layer of skin. This heals to a soft powdery finish with a gradient effect. This technique works best for all skin types (dry to oily) and clients with little to no brow hair. Ombre Powder Brows only Combo Brows - Microblading hairstrokes at the beginning of brow and Ombre Powder

What is the Nano Brows technique?Nano refers to individual hairstrokes created by a handheld machine with a single point needle. Works best for clients with dry to combination skin type. Nano hairstrokes do not fade as fast compared to manual microblading hairstrokes. Combination technique is recommended - nano hairstrokes are placed in the perimeter of the brow and ombre powder shading fills in any gaps where hairstrokes are not present.

Colour Corrections and CoverupsPlease be informed that tattoo cover-ups and corrections may need more than just one appointment and that variations in colour may exist in the final result. Ombre Powder done with machine will work best to cover an old tattoo. Client's previous eyebrow tattoo must be faded. If you are unsure, please email a photo of your current brows to vancouverbrowbar@outlook.com

Are semi-permanent eyebrows deemed permanent? The colour is implanted into the upper layers of the skin (between the epidermis and dermis) and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a tattoo so it naturally fades over time. This semi-permanent method has gained popularity in the past 5 years - due to the fact that fashion changes and the permanence of the old fashioned tattoo is less appealing. A client can let their new semi-permanent eyebrows fade away over time - however a shadow will always remain

How long does a treatment take?Semi-permanent makeup is generally a 2-step process - usually 3 months apart. It is very important to complete 2 visits. Step 1: The initial procedure takes approximately 3 hours. During this time, a full consultation is done, a colour tone is chosen, and the initial outline of the brows is mapped out for the client to approve. Once the client is satisfied with the basic shape and symmetry, then the colour pigment is carefully implanted using the technique discussed during consultation. The end result will depend on 50% pigment and 50% healing. We all heal differently, and what works on one client may not be effective on another. This is why a second visit is so important to correct any irregularities in colour tones and areas where the colour did not hold well. Step 2: The second stage of the treament is the touch-up, and takes approximately 2 hours. This is done 2-3 months after the initial procedure because it takes time for the pigment to heal and settle in the skin. It is IMPERATIVE to complete the touchup treatment, as without it, it will be a job half done and the results will not be optimum. Colour will have faded significantly after the 1st treatment as the skin heals, peels, and fades. The touchup gives the client an opportunity to get used to the initial finish before a final touchup consolidates the pigment into the skin, thus prevents fading. Step 3: Occasionally a third visit is necessary for certain clients. This is not uncommon.

Is the microblading procedure painful? We take every precaution necessary to ensure the micro-pigmentation application is as pain-free as possible. A wide range of topical medical-grade anesthetics are used for your comfort. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable, whereas clients report no discomfort at all. The topical numbing cream is constantly reapplied during the treatment to keep you comfortable. Some clients may find it helpful to take 1-2 Tylenol pills, 1 hour before treatment as well. Pain level will depend on your tolerance. Generally, microblading is the most painful (6/10 pain level). Ombre powder and nano is the least painful (2/10 pain level).

How long is the recovery or healing time? You do not have to hide from the world until you are healed. Many clients can walk right out the door, ready to show off their new brows. The brows will scab over immediately and will look dark for 7 days. All the scabs should slough off after one week, and the colour will fade 50% lighter. Your new brows will soften to a natural looking colour in 2 weeks after the appointment. It is normal to have some patchy areas where the colour did not hold in the skin, and touchups may be needed for those areas. Please schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to any special event or vacation. This will allow time for all the scabs to slough off.
-
When will I see the final results?A noticeable difference will be readily apparent immediately following the procedure. Your brows may be a little sore and this will disappear in 48 hours. You will see your final results after the healing process is fully completed, usually 2 weeks.
-
How do you choose a colour? We choose a colour together with the client by applying small amounts of different coloured pigments to the skin near your eyebrows and selecting the best match for your skin tone, features, and personal preference.
-
What types of pigments do you use? Many medical professionals, who perform their own tattooing, use the same pigments that we use. We use top of the industry Perma Blend and Tina Davies branded colour pigments in all shades of colour ranging from blondes, red, to browns. The colour pigments have been tested by the Chemical Technological Laboratory GmbH in Germany and passes the stringent tests described in Resolution ResAP(2008)1, one of the most stringent tests on the market for tattoo and permanent makeup products. The colour pigments are made in the USA, using ingredients that are gamma ray sterilized, organic, vegan and cruelty-free. These pigments are ultra-concentrated and can cover old, faded tattoo.

Will they fade?Your skin changes over time and so will any permanent makeup colouration implanted into the skin's layers. However, this natural fading process takes years and touch-ups are easily done as your colours fade over time. It is difficult to predict how long the brows will last. It will depend on the technique, your age, skin type, and lifestyle. Generally, after 1-2 touchups, microbladed/combo brows will last 1-2 years and ombre powder/nano brows will last 2 years. If you would like your brows to last a long time, then annual touchups are recommended.

Will my new semi-permanent eyebrows look fake?NO! Our eyebrow pigmentation unique artistry guarantees soft, natural-looking eyebrows. When we implant semi-permanant makeup pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than even topically applied cosmetics.
-
What if I don't like it?Although the procedure is considered semi-permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing the colour and shape to some extent at your touchup appointments. Colours will appear much darker immediately following the procedure but will soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and remember it takes time to adjust to a new look!
